My sister in law said she thought the service would have improved as she went when they first opened and it was crowded. I always remember the large portions of delicious food but I don’t remember the slow service as we did st Daly City. I’ve been to two different Black Bear Diners before. His ice cream bowl was same size as the soup bowl. We were trying to get a taste from my nephew but he didn’t want to share. The kid’s meal even had ice cream or else they just ordered it separate, I don’t know. Those that got the soup enjoyed it but I thought the portion did not qualify as a cup since it came in a bowl that was the same size as the bowl for coffee creamer. Excellent corn bread muffin, even my salad was fresh and crunchy. My husband got the brisket and said he needed lots of bbq sauce as it was dry but he ate it all. My mother loved the pot roast as it was so soft. My brother didn’t think his fish and chips were great because the batter was too thick. My Bigfoot chicken fried steak was so big 5 people tasted my food and there was plenty for me. They figured out our server needed help and it all came out at same time.Food portions were ginormous and overall we enjoyed what we ordered. By now someone should have helped our server since she wasn’t getting the job done but no, she took a while to get our drinks. Another person in our party asked for drinks. Finally one of us went to the manager to ask for service and we put in our orders, including drinks. They put us in the back away from the other people and left us there for another 15 minutes without. We understood because it was a large group, about 15. The place was almost empty but it took several minutes for us to be seated. It’s saying ALOT but genuinely Sizzler is far far better….and only next door.Īwful food, awful service, and a simply don’t care attitude. If she meant rubbish, poor quality and Luke warm then yep absolutely right, we don’t like that! When it came to paying, we explained all of the above, only to get the reply “maybe you just don’t like this type of food”?! The restaurant was empty (2 tables other than us) so there was really no excuse… Perhaps worse of all, we didn’t get asked once if our food was ok nor any niceties whatsoever. Wife had a club sandwich which was cold, son had a pizza which looked identical to those mini ones you get frozen from the supermarket…. I ordered chicken fried steak which came with mash and green beans - chicken and mash were bland beyond belief, and the beans literally swimming in brine and luke warm… This is without a shadow of a doubt the worst meal and experience we’ve had in the last two weeks.įood turned up worryingly quickly - certainly not pleasantly…as if it’d been made and rewarmed.
